ARTIST: Luc Melanson After a bachelor's degree in graphic design, Luc Melanson devoted himself to visual art, and more specifically to illustration. His distinctive style has won him wide public acclaim and recognition from his peers.

His works have been distributed both here and abroad in a variety of media: books, magazines, comic strips, posters, street furniture and more. They have been reproduced by many major publications, including L'actualité, Le Devoir, the New Yorker, the New York Times, the Washington Post and L'Express, and exhibited in major cities such as Montreal, Calgary, New York, Detroit, Rome, Barcelona, Brussels and Seoul. He has also designed a stamp for Canada Post, as well as the new manhole covers for the city of Montreal.

Luc Melanson has also received numerous awards, including the Governor General's Award in 2002 and, more recently, the CALQ Award for Artist of the Year in Laval in 2022. Photo: Rico Michel
